Most people fall into one of two categories: They use one password for every account, or they use a slightly different password for every account.
However, neither approach is great…even though it’s convenient!
The main problem is that, if your password is compromised in some way…now all of your accounts become vulnerable. It doesn’t take a hacker long once they’ve cracked a code to begin to get into everything. For example, if you have a Facebook account, you may use your Facebook login to get into other online accounts or mobile apps. If that gets password gets in the hands of the wrong person…you become vulnerable really quickly.
This infographic from Kaspersky research shows fascinating statistics about people and how they use passwords.
